I have only a few hours in each BF3 and BF4.
But early impressions are that BF4 is a bit more "like" BF2.
Bigger squads and in game VOIP certainly help.

If you are considering BF3 or BF4, my vote is for BF4.
The hardware requirements aren't that much more than BF3.

my 650ti does about 30-40 FPS on Ultra Textures, all else HIGH.
I lowered the first half of settings to MEDIUM and hold 60-70 FPS.

for reference, my system:
I5-3570K 3.4 GHZ Quad Core liquid cooled
8GB 1866Mhz DDR3

I have a dual core cpu 3.0 Ghz, 8 GB DDR2 800 Mhz ram, Evga 780i Mobo, Antec 750 PS.
