Most already seem to know, but "Origin in Game" seems to cause more problems than do any good.
Turn that off for each game, or all games, inside the Origin Preferences, or in a game "Properties" window.

They semi recently made the battlelog window have an animated background, and i found that it takes 10-18 percent of my CPU all by itself.
Turn that shit off in your profile settings in the Battlelog browser window.
Your name-> Settings, then look for "Enable Video background", uncheck it.

probably from Origin, it goes on sale occasionally.
https://www.origin.com/en-us/store/

in case you didn't know, it's not like BF2:

you have to install the Origin client first, which is like a gateway to any Origin games you have, then BF4 will bring up a browser window, in which you can change your soldiers loadout, browse for servers, find friends to join, etc. When you join a server, then the actual game launches.

Kinda like Steam.

From what I hear, yes, very much like Steam.
I would watch for a sale, if I were you. Premium is worth it if you continue playing for awhile, lots of perks, plus all the expansions.
Full regular price is a bit high, imo.
